Eira is our communication advisor for the EEA and Norway Grants.

She works with communication related to the civil society under the EEA and Norway Grants, for which the Helsinki Committee is the contact point. This includes tasks such as maintaining the website and Facebook page, as well as other ongoing tasks related to updates and information work.

Eira is half Norwegian and half British, with a longer experience from abroad. She has a master’s degree in “International Politics and Economics” from Charles University, Prague. As a resident of one of the EEA and Norway Grants’ recipient countries, she was able to see and experience the effects of the Grants up close. Afterwards, Eira worked as an intern at the Norwegian Embassy in Prague, further increasing her interest in the presence of the Grants in the region. Her master’s thesis dealt with how the EEA and Norway Grants are used by Norway to promote liberal democratic rights in Hungary and Poland. Thus, she finds it particularly enjoyable to continue working with the funding scheme.

It is very fun and exciting to work at the Helsinki Committee – as I on a daily basis get to follow civil society’s work in large parts of Europe.
