Bjørn (1960) started working in the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in 1995 and became Secretary General in 1996. Bjørn has a masters degree in law and has formerly been employed at the Norwegian Institute for Human Rights. Bjørn is a member of the board of the Institute for Human Rights.

Gunnar (1962) has been Deputy Secretary General in the Norwegian Helsinki Committee since 1997. He is B.A equivalent, with major in philosophy, and minors in history of ideas and Christianity. Gunnar has earlier been employed at the Institute of Human Rights and been editor of the Nordic magazine "Mennesker og rettigheter" ("People and Rights").

Enver (1959) is a lawyer from Bosnia-Hercegovina, and he has a degree in multi-cultural understanding from the University of Oslo. He became Project Manager for the NHC "Bosnia Project" in 1997, and is now the head of educational activities.

Mina (1982) will soon be graduating from the University of Oslo with a major in literature. Her minors are Middle East and North Africa studies, as well as Balkan studies and Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian language studies. She was employed by the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in September 2007.Balkan, i Tsjetsjenia og i Norge.

Csilla (1980) has a B.A. in languages, litterature and education from the University of Sibiu (Romania) and an M.Phil. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Oslo. Csilla started working for the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in July 2008 as a project assistant in all Human Rights Education projects. in addition she also works with adult education, training immigrants in Oslo.

Ole (1970) has a Masters degree in political science. He has earlier been employed as a cosultant for the Institute of Human Rights, Project Manager for the Human Rights House Foundation and as a Manager for "Elvahuset" in Førde. Ole started working in the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in 2000.

Aage (1969) has been with the Helsinki Committee and the Human Rights House since 1992. He has a master degree in literature and has published three books; "Archives" (2001) and "Eurostories" (2003) and "Folkevandringer" (2005).

Anne Marit (1974) was first employed with the NHC from 2000-2003 and came back in 2005 after a period in the Norwegian Refugee Council. She is a Master of International Politics from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. Prior to her NHC employment, Anne Marit worked for the UN Special Representative for Internally Displaced Persons and for Amnesty International Norway.

Inna (1976) has a degree in linguestics from the University of Kalmykia in Russia, and from the University of Oslo an M.A. in political science. She is a specialist of Russian elitisism and power structures. Inna was employed by the NHC in 2005. She has extensive experience from Amnesty International Norway's Russia Group.

Vanja (1977) has master’s degree in political science, management and leadership. She acquired additional education in coaching, personal development and communication processes. She previously worked as a Program Director for international conferences for students of political science in the Czech Republic and as a consultant for organization and leadership both in private and public sectors.




Responsibilites:

  • Project manager of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee`s project: EEA-financial mechanisms and NGO-funds.
  • Coordinating role between Norwegian NGOs and organizations in the beneficiary countries
  • Close cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, respective Norwegian Embassies as well as other focal points and intermediaries in the beneficiary countries

Anders (1977) has a Masters degree in history from the University of Oslo, where he also studied political science and Russian- and Eastern European studies. He gained his experience in the field of information at The Institute for Social Research, where he worked as an information consultant. Berit (1964) is a lawyer by profession. For many years she lived in Russia, Ukraine and France. Berit is an experienced election observer and has worked with democracy development and human rights in organisations like OSCE/ODIHR, IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems) and the Human Rights House Foundation. Her work has focused on the countries from the former Sovjet Union and Africa. She started working for the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in 2004.

Ivar (1976) has studied english, russian and political science at the University of Oslo, and has gained significant experience in freelance journalism through his several travels in Russia and the Caucasus. Ivar has also worked in the Directorate of Immigration, before he was employed by the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in November 2006.

Elena Mamadnazarova, project coordinator at the Central Asia office

Elena (1975) is from Tajikistan and obtained her Degree in Secondary Education & Languages (English & German) from the University in Dushanbe. She has got extensive work experience in the area of civil society and non-governmental organisation (NGO) development. Before joining NHC she was worked for UNDP in Tajikistan overseeing the local governance and NGO/community development components of the program.
